Equipment & Sizing
Use the guides and links below to help choose equipment for your athlete. These recommendations are intended for both Pinnacle and Ascent families and consider an athlete’s height, weight, ability, strength, and stage of development. Our goal is to help athletes build strong technique, ski with control, and progress safely.
Using the sizing recommendations
The sizing charts are a starting point. In some circumstances, an athlete’s skill, strength, and experience may lead a coach to recommend skis approximately 10 cm shorter or longer than a listed recommendation.
Any adjustment must still meet the equipment requirements for the athlete’s competition. This flexibility applies to our sizing recommendations and does not change official race rules.
Before purchasing equipment, parents should always double-check the current U.S. Ski & Snowboard equipment requirements for their athlete’s age group and racing discipline. Athletes participating in FIS races must also check the applicable FIS requirements.
Guidance for Ascent families
Ascent does not have its own race-specific ski-length requirements, but we strongly encourage families to stay close to these recommendations. Any equipment rules for a competition your athlete enters still apply.
We have seen athletes face a difficult adjustment when moving into Pinnacle after spending time on skis that were much too short for their size and development. The transition to appropriately sized race skis—and to equipment that meets applicable competition requirements—can then feel like a much bigger step.
Following appropriate sizing recommendations throughout Ascent helps athletes develop the skills and confidence they will need as they progress. These guidelines are useful for all Ascent racers, whether they plan to move into Pinnacle or continue developing within Ascent.
Unsure which size to choose? Check with your coach before purchasing equipment.

We encourage all Pinnacle athletes to wear a Pinnacle team coat at training, races, and team events.
Due to ordering and logistics challenges this season, team coats are available only from existing stock. Families can also check our Used Gear Exchange for previously owned Pinnacle coats.
We are planning to introduce a new team coat for the 2027–28 season and will share ordering information as it becomes available.
